What is ‘Dirty Hands’?
To give you a small gist of what this is, every year in the month of October, we select a few like-minded, creatively inclined people, people who are ready to get their hands dirty to create art, art that eventually becomes a part of our property! These carefully selected individuals stay on the property for a period 6 days and build things from scratch, where the joy of literally making things trumps the feeling of designing things on a computer.
A lot of people who are a part of our closed-knit community and have visited us multiple times over the years, have expressed how they love the ambience and the vibe at the property. We’ve often been asked if they can be a part of our creative team and experience the art of building things right from scratch. And Voila! DIRTY HANDS was conceptualized.
What will we be doing?
We will be doing a long list of things, things which will involve the use of a lot of natural materials a lot of our creative brain. To name a few, we will be doing some hands-on bamboo & wood work and create items with it; we will paint walls, signages, installations, any surface that can turn into an art piece; we will create DIY decor elements, lamps, lighting using various natural materials; in all, we will come up with sustainable design solutions & approaches to minimise waste while also creating something from scratch and making it a beautiful element of the property.

Who will be hosting this?
The entire program will be facilitated by the architects on our team, the architects who have been responsible for the beauty that The Aryavart Escape is today. We will also be working with a few locals from the area, who bring extensive knowledge of natural materials, such as bamboo, and help us understand how to correctly use the materials in different scenarios. We will also be inviting a few guest mentors, who command experience in design, for interactions & insights.
Who can be a part of this?
All architecture & design background folks, be it students or professionals, are welcome. Designers, belonging to any field but having a strong design experience, will the best suited. Moreover, people who do not pursue design professionally, but have a very strong eye for it, are most welcome!

How do I be a part of this?
We will need you to fill up a small application form that better describes your design work, inclination towards the art and any experience that you bring with it. Our team will then review the application and get in touch with you in a few days if your application fits the bill.
Itinerary
Here’s what a day in Dirty Hands will look like. We will start off our mornings in high energy, hydrate and feed ourselves at regular intervals, and come evening, we will put up all of the day’s work on display and compete in teams.
We will also have a super-cozy ‘Uncover’ session at the end of each day, where each participant gets to showcase their inner, hidden talents to the rest of the gang.
